Random shopping notes

Sorry it has been so long since I posted, but we have been busy! Plenty of playdates and picnics and such. Last weekend we finally bought a new patio set to replace the one that was ruined in a storm almost 2 years ago. (I know, it looked awful the only things on our deck were a grill and 2 rocking chairs) But now, thanks to K marts Martha Stewart line, we have this:

In other shopping news , I was in Target and I saw this sweater on sale and had to buy it. Mine is green with pink and white argyle, but you get the idea:

The whim stuff was all gone, but that is probably for the best.

I am excited that the new fall Vera Bradley patterns are shipping. I haven't decided what I am getting yet, but these 2 patterns are my favorites.

Oh, and I was tagged by Prep in the country to tell about my idea staycation. I promise I am working on it!!!

Sale!!

Kate Spade is having a sale!! Actually 2 different sales- the one on her site and then the private sale that ends tomorrow. I keep trying to post a link for it and the link takes me back the the regular site, so I'm sorry. There are a few things I am just in LOVE with. I would post pics, but L has killed the right click feature on the mouse (too much nick jr. com I guess). I bought a new mouse today, but have not attenpted to hook it up yet.

Anyway, lots of goodies on the site and I thougth I would share!

rude drivers,vbs,target and more

Ok, first off I have to rant about my rude driver experience this morning. It is 8:30 and I am just minding my own business in my little volvo wagon driving L to Bible school and of course I have B with me as well. We have to go down this very curvy backroad fron our neighborhood to get to the main road. Anyway, I notice this blue van up on my tail as I am driving. The speed limit on this curvy raod is 30 and I am already going 40 so I am not sure what they want from me. I do admit that i kind of slowed down a bit after I noticed him because I cant stand tailgaters. Anyway, I get to the main highway and he whips over in the lane next to me. I'm thinking good, now he can pass me and we can both get on with our day. And then, are you ready for this, he lays on his horn, so of course I look over. He then preceeds to flip me off and actually yell "f#%k you" (his window was down) at me!!! WTH???? All because I don't speed????? And with 2 small kids in my car!!!!!!!!!!!What really ticked me off was I noticed his license plate and he is a member of the National Guard!! I am shocked and embarassed that this kind of person represents our country in the Military!!

Anyway, sorry to drone on, but that really made me MAD!! L really enjoyed her first day of bible school. After I dropped her off, B and I went to Target ( hey we were out of granola bars) I notice that the whim stuff is now 75% off!! So I got a pair of the blue and green flip flops, the floppy hat with the madras lining, the green serving bowl (perfect for salads or for popcorn), and the crazy daisy sprinkler. It was really picked over or believe me, I would have gotten more. There is another Target not too far away, so I may check it out tomorrow.

Also, I swung by the mall and Bath and Body works has a ton of stuff 75% off. J.C. Penney has American Living polo shirts on sale for $9.99. Vera Bradley retirees are now 25% off. Thats about all I have to report.

happy fathers day!!

Just wanted to say happy fathers day to all the dads out there (not that they will read this)
I also wanted to say happy Father's day to my daddy who I have always been very close to. He has always been there for me and been suportive an all that I do. It may sound cheesy, but he is kind of my hero.

Whim on sale!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, thanks for the comments on my last post. I am feeling much better now and my grandaddy is too. They have decided he does not need the defibulator and he can go home (not alone-he has to stay with my parents) in a couple of days!!

That being said, I was in Target today getting L some new soccer socks and you know I had to go to the Whim section. OMG!! It is 50% off here!! It was kind of picked over, but I did get a few things:
I got one of the blue water coolers to take to L's games
I got some beach towels
I got the blue/green baseball/ glove set for L and B
I got b one of the hopper balls
I got the volleyball set
and of course I had to get a madras bucket

The cool thing was I got all that, plus L's socks , some cookies, and one of the $2.50 straw totes all for $39.48!!!! So, if your store has gone 50 percent off , hurry in!!!

I may have to go back for more dishes and the blue/green flip flops as well as some of the camp chairs.

Bad Blogger

Sorry it has been so long since I posted! I do have some good excuses:

1. the "minor surgery" I had, had some major complications including a UTI I developed so I basically was in bed for a week feeling like crap.

2.L started soccer camp this week

3. B has a nasty cold and cough

4. My grandaddy had a slight heart attack and they are checking tomorrow to see if he is a canidate for a difibulator. He had a quadruple bypass 10 years ago and it is pretty much worn out. He is also having an irregular heart beat. I went to visit him today and he seems to be doing OK.

Anyway, I am back now and ready to blog!!
I ordered L one of the Lilly P swimsuits they had on sale at Garnet Hill and it came today!! It is super cute. I also managed to grab a copy of the Essentially Lilly book on amazon.com for like 10 dollars shipped!! I am still waiting for that to arrive.

I just bought the new Jakob Dylan album on itunes tonight! If you go to the link i gave, there is a place on his website where you can listen to the entire album for free and even add a the stream to your facebook or myspace page. The music is more acoustic than the wallflowers stuff, but I like it.

We are thinking of getting a cheap above ground pool for the backyard. We already have a privacy fence so why not? Has anyone gotten one of the Easy Set pools? They seem like they would be pretty low maintainance, but I want to know how well they hold up.
